The DTP belongs to the Center of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CNyN) of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), in Ensenada Baja California, Mexico, one-year appointment is anticipated, renewable for a second year
The local environment offers a variety of research projects within the department members. We are looking for a person with experience in one of the subjects of research in our departament, such as quantum dynamics, open quantum systems calculations, spintronics in semiconductors and electronic structure calculations in materials. The activities of interest at our department concern e.g. physical models for quantum computation with spins and charge, characterization of entanglement in contact with reservoir with external perturbation, spin optical response and transport in systems with spin-orbit interaction in semiconductors, dynamics properties of carbon nanotubes, charge and spin transport properties in nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) and electronic structure calculations in materials with ab-initio methods. The position could involve partly supervision of PhD/MSC students.
Applicants should send a CV, a statement of research interests, and two letters of reference to F. Rojas frojas@cnyn.unam.mx. Starting date for the position is preferably march or September 2010.
